Comments are love.
-Saturday morning, Britin, Justin's study.
" Hey, Justin, I just watched The Jurassic World trailer. It looks awesome! Do you and dad wanna join me and go check it out later tonight?" Gus asks me ever so casually as he flops on the couch in my study/studio in Britin. I gaze at him and nod with a smile. I love having Gus in my life and I'm thrilled to know he feels the same. Despite the fact he'll be turning Fifteen soon and I'm almost Twenty years older than him he's still so much fun to hang out with-not to mention he's Brian's son.
"Wouldn't you rather watch it online later on?" I ask after a slight pause, thinking of something else I had planned for later tonight with Gus' dad.
Gus stares back at me with those amazing golden/hazel eyes. "I wouldn't have asked you if I didn't want you to join me," he grins somewhat sarcastically- but then he's a teenager so I cut him some slack. Damn, he looks AND sounds so much like his dad. It's almost uncanny.
I sit back in my chair, trying to think of a proper comeback to my young bright companion when my Iphone beeps.
"Oh, It's your dad actually ," I inform Gus, grabbing my phone with my own 'saved by the bell' expression.
"Hey," Brian's warm silky husky tone of voice melts my heart right away.
"Hey you," I answer, trying to contain myself as if we didn't just talk over the phone about an hour ago when Brian left for his weekend workout at the gym. I walk from the study towards the patio, cradling my iphone between my ear and my shoulder.
"So what's up?" he asks and then the line gets distorted. "I'm getting into the Jeep," he explains the crackling noises.
"Gus offered we might go catch a movie tonight. Jurassic World just opened," I inform my partner. Usually when Gus spends the weekends with us at Britin we rarely go out-after a hectic work week- but if there's a chance to go out for some fun time together with him we're always up for it.
I can hear Brian grunting at the other end of the line. I know it's not because he wouldn't want to spend time with Gus. It's just that…it's just that Brian and I had OTHER plans. Initially it wasn't supposed to be Gus' weekend with us. He was supposed to go on a camping trip with his moms and sister over the weekend.
Brian was away on a business trip in Chicago all week and we couldn't wait to spend the weekend alone in our specious house fucking our brains out but when Gus called earlier this morning to let us know the trip was off and asked to stay with us instead we simply couldn't refuse.
"Since when he's into dinosaurs ?" Brian asks briskly, bringing me back to reality.
"I guess every Fifteen year old kid is into dinosaurs, " I answer. "I mean… I was about Gus' age when the first movie was released and I can still remember how obsessed I was with it. I was sure I was going to be a world re-known paleontologist. That's until I realized I'd love to be an artist as well," I stop mid sentence. "So… will you be joining your son and me to the movies tonight?" I continue. " We might get a lot hornyier with all that Dino extravaganza but it would have to wait for much later, for obvious reasons," I lower my voice.
"Fine," Brian blurs out absently before he hangs up.
I had back to my study where Gus now sits crossed legged on one of the sofas, his head buried his Ipad, deeply involved in one of his computer games.
I turn to him to let him know it's off to the movies tonight after all. "Yeah, cool," comes the ever so casual response from the teenager.
When I turn to enter the kitchen to fix us some light lunch my iphone beeps again. This time it's a tweet from Brian. Ever since Brian joined Twitter I became accustomed to his cryptic messages but this one is even more enigmatic.
'The film’s fictional super-intelligent, genetically-modified dinosaur shouldn’t have thumbs'. He writes.
Something about Brian’s tweet makes me think he doesn’t believe it’s actually a great idea. My interest-as well as couple OTHER things in my body- has piqued. I like where this is going yet I want to make sure he's not tweeting and driving- or something- while we're at it.
'Had to stop by the office, be back soon...' he sends a reassuring tweet.
'I suspect though that the producers of a movie about a dinosaur theme park with genetically modified monsters weren’t really concerned with scientific accuracy,' I tweet back to him, continuing the previous conversation.
'I’m no dino-scientist but I guess ppl are angry for a good reason! Because platynotan hypothesis! ' he replies shortly after.
'Oh, and get this, scientists in the UK, are most perturbed by the decision not to include feathered dinosaurs in this movie, I tend to agree' I reply him, after a brief Google search.
'I feel your nerdly pain. even if I have no idea what you’re talking about in this case,' My hubby tweets back.
Okaay, THIS has got to stop. NERDLY PAIN? The fuck??? I'll show him nerdly pain. HE'S the one who started it. I just mentioned we might catch a movie with Gus. I can't wait for Brian to get home. I can't wait to give him a piece of my mind and THEN some.

-A Few Hours Later, Brian and Justin's bedroom-
" Fuck, enough with that you twat, " Brian groans.
"Not until you apologize," I huff under my breath, pinning his gorgeous naked sweaty body to the mattress, holding his arms up high above his head.
"Sorry is bullshit," he grants.
"Is it?... " I flash an evil grin and squeeze harder. "How's THAT for NERDLY pain, Mr. Kinney?"
"Fuck!" he screams at the top of his lungs and whimpers under me.
" May I remind you that Gus is staying with us? Keep your voice down," I tell him in a stern voice.
He smirks and tries to wiggle. Brian Kinney doesn't like to let others have the upper hand but I've known him long enough to realize he's actually enjoying the whole thing. It's his way of expressing his old 'Brian Kinney does NOT cuddle' mantra when he and I know better than anyone that he SO does. We don't even have to discuss it. Over the years it has become like a second nature to him, to us.
Speaking of nature- I'm reminded we did promise Gus a night out at the movies so as much as I'm reluctant to get out of bed to go watch an inaccurate Hollywood blockbuster version of a dinosaurs saga -Been there, ALMOST done that when I was working in L.A years ago trying to bring Rage The Gay Crusader to the big screen- I know we can't let Gus down.
I let my partner go so we could both get ready and go downstairs.

-Fifteen Minutes Later-
The youngster sits with his back to us in the living room, wearing his earphones, holding his laptop on his knees.
"Hey , you guys," he greets us, pulling his earphones down to his neck. "Look… I know I offered we'd go to the movies this evening. I know how much you like these kind of Dino movies Justin but… I decided to go with a few of my friends instead. I hope you guys wouldn't mind. They'll be picking me up in like… oh, that's them now," he says as someone cheerfully blows a car horn in the driveway. "Don't wait up for me," he giggles, grabbing his navy blue hoodie and his back pack from the rack in the hallway.
"Home by Eleven pm!" Brian warns playfully but I can tell he really means it.
""Daaad!!" Gus shrugs in protest as he walks to the front door. I can tell he's quite content with the way Brian cares about him.
After Gus closes the front door and walks to his friends' car Brian and I remain quiet for a brief moment. Then we nod at each other, barely able to contain our need and passion – especially after a week apart. We dash towards the staircase knowing we've only got the house to ourselves for a few more hours tonight as well as for the rest of the weekend so we'd better make the most of it.
We almost tramp and fall over each other as we stumble all the way up the stairs to the bedroom but we eventually make it there in one piece. Literally. We can no longer take our hands, tongues, lips, and eventually DICKS off of each other the moment our bodies finally meet the mattress.
It might not be such a bumpy ride as the genetically modified -yet not scientifically accurate monsters dinosaur's theme park that is the Jurassic world but it's definitely not going to be a quiet night at home where Brian Kinney - he who never cuddles - and I are busy exploring all kinds of new adventures in the vast exciting theme park that is our own bed.

Date: 2015-06-22 11:58 am (UTC)I guess a bit of a disclaimer is in order here... I knew I had to write something for you bday (which coincided withe Cuddle Day :D ) and I KNEW it had to be something you'll find interesting. I jumped with joy when I realized there was quite a online discussion around certain scientific issues that concern the new GM creatures on the new JW movie. I was thrilled to notice that ppl actually took to Twitter to express their opinion and rant a bit about it. The whole 'Because platynotan hypothesis' is actually something I saw online in one Twitter convo and thought it would be brilliant to use as something Brian would say in a reply to Justin to kinda irritate him :p (It's not as if B. doesn't know how/when to use the term correctly BUT he's missusing it on purpose ;) pretty much like "BK doesn't cuddle'... :D

Date: 2015-06-22 03:13 am (UTC)Cute story, and I'm trilled that you worked dinosaurs into it ;-) I feel Justin's nerdy pain as well. The theropods in the movie should have feathers (although admittedly they didn't know that 32 years ago when he first movie was made). And I hope the GM dinosaur doesn't have opposable thumbs - that would just be mixing too many taxonomic classes of vertebrate ;-)
It's nice to see that Justin and Brian are still cuddling. As if there was any doubt ;-) Thanks for the story and the birthday wishes!

I'm SOOO pleased to know you enjoyed this story. It was so much fun to write and so hmm... how should I say? Educational. Your supportive feedback means soooo much to me :)
And btw- I've watched the first JP movie 32 years ago IN CINEMA *cough cough* (waaay before 3D and all that... ). I can hardly remember the scientific side of it though, but rather the more human side- ESP brilliant Mr. Jeff Goldblum which IMO is the ultimate depiction of the 'geek-y', reserved anti-hero which of course saves the day eventually.
Enjoy the movie once you get to watch it dear Em (even though those theropods are w/o feathers and the GM dinosaur may or may not have opposable thumbs...
Oh and I'm hoping you had a brilliant bday
