I've known Brian Kinney for Fifteen years but our friendship got a lot stronger once he offered me a job at Kinnetik. He's always been in control-even in his most weakest moments- but I've never seen him so distracted and even relatively unkept.

It started a few months ago. Brian and Justin surprised us when they decided to call off their wedding. THEN Justin set off to NYC. At first Blake and I offered Brian a few nights out along with Emmett and Drew but now he's mostly staying alone at his loft.

Brian tries to keep his composure -at least during office hours- but I can definitely see him struggle.

His head is buried in his cellphone while we sit in the boardroom with a few other members at the weekly morning meeting. "Earth to Brian…" I can't help but snort at him.

Brian doesn't respond with his usual death glare. He lifts his head, rests his chin on the palm of his hand, flashing out a smile. I gaze back at him as if I'm the responsible adult in the room.

His goofy smile grows larger. If I didn't know any better I'd say he's sporting a lovey dovey grin.

"What is it, Theodore?" he replies.

I breathe a sigh of relief. It's been a while since he called me that. Does it mean what I think it means?

I shrug my shoulders waiting to continue but then he nods at us somewhat apologetically and stands up.

"I've gotta go. Justin just flew in. Will you cover for me?" He whispers in my ear."Tell them something came up,"

"Sure, Bri!" I answer right away.

"Great! Thanks man," he says . "Oh and Tell Cynthia not to call or message me in the next 72 hours, you hear?"

Def something different from what we're used to ;)
Thank you so much for taking the time to read and comment. Your supportive feedback means a lot to me. This was so much fun to write. I'm so pleased to know you enjoyed Ted's take on post 513 Brian few months after Justin left, and I'm thrilled to know you think it could be a start of a new series ;)
