Mel and Lindsay's yard was already buzzing with little excited voices when Justin entered
the path leading to the party with Brian tagging along behind him.
Justin was carrying his messenger bag filled with art supplies, since a day before the party
Mel had called and asked him to set up a little arts and crafts table for the kids. Justin
objected at first, telling Mel he didn't know anything about her Purim holiday. She
suggested to him that he could bring some drawings of clowns for the kids to color, and so
Justin gave in.
When Brian got back from work later, the same day as Mel's call, he found Justin on his
knees on their bed. To his disappointment he realized his little blond artiste was busy
cutting out colorful cardbaord clowns. "Save some for me," he laughed, with his tongue in
cheek, as he removed his dress shirt on the way to the bathroom.
Brian maneged to have a little celebration of his own with Justin in the shower before they
left on Sunday morning to drive to the girls' house. Justin smirked and refused to have
second round once they pulled up to the house since the yard was flooded with 7 year-old
pirates and princesses running around.
"Have I died and gone to muncher heaven?" Brian asked sarcasticlly, as he held Justin's
hand.
"No,those are JR's friends from hebrew school," Mel answered as she greeted the couple
and ushred Justin to the arts and crafts table.
Justin heard a bubbly voice behind him, and jumped with joy as he saw Emmett standing
behind a table next to him, wearing a chef's hat and apron. "Lindsay assigned me to the
bake table," he said, holding a tray of freshly baked cookies.
"So, Brian must really be scared, I saw him practically holding your hand," Emmet
commented.
As Justin was getting himself set up, he saw Brian towering over the little crowd of kids
while holding on to Gus's hand.
"He's not scared, he's happy," Justin whispered to himself as he handed out some cut out
clowns and a box of crayons to a bunch of laughing little mermaids and Ninja Turtles.
