Part 6
"I had to," Justin whispers quietly as he approaches Brian to hug him from behind. They stand together outside on the porch.
"He had a small dick," Brian recalls.
"And sweaty palms," Justin giggles.
"Why didn't you tell me about this before?" Brian asks softly.
"You never asked, and I never thought it was that important. I did what I had to do to protect you," he explains as he presses his chin to Brian's shoulder. "Plus, you never told me you were there for me that night at the parking lot, when that bastard Hobbs beat the shit out of me. It took you quite a few months to tell me about that," Justin points out as he leans against Brian's back, inhaling his comforting, distinctive scent.
"I was fucking scared," Brian unexpectedly admits. "Damn," he whispers into Justin's hair.
”There are a couple other things I didn't tell you," Justin admits softly as he lets out a deep breath. Justin raises on his tiptoes to kiss the sensitive spot on the back of Brian's neck, holding onto Brian's arms for support.
"I think you'd better explain what else you didn't tell me, Justin," Brian quietly demands amidts the typical, backwoods sounds of crickets and an occasional whippoorwill. He's clearly not willing to let that statement go unchallenged after what Justin had just told him.
After just having confessed that he had fucked Kip Thomas, Justin knows in his head that his next admission might not be that easy, but in his heart he knows that now is the right time to do so.
"I was referring to when I wasn't really being honest with you about… Ethan," Justin painfully whispers.
"How the fuck did we go from Kip to Ethan here? I thought you were just talking about Kip fucking Thomas, to be honest," Brian blurts out.
"I… I just thought that since we're being completely upfront here I might as well let it all out," Justin explains. "Even though technically it's not within the parameters of our drinking game," he continues with a smile.
"I see," Brian says solemnly before he draws his lips under. "So…since we're being completely honest here, how was he? the fiddler, I mean?" Brian asks with his tongue pressed to his cheek as he turns around towards Justin.
"A very lousy fuck!" Justin says with a smirk, relieved that Brian is not upset.
"At last! Finally you admit it. I knew that chin rat would be a poor replacement for me," Brian replies smugly, secretly glad to hear it out said out loud.
"I never said he wasn't," Justin reminds him, smiling in the dark as he grabs Brian's hand.
"So where do we go from here?" the younger man asks after a slight pause, entwining his fingers with Brian's.
"Who knows what wonders fate has in store?" Brian grins, trying to light a joint in the frosty air.
"Now where have I heard that before?" Justin giggles as he steals Brian's joint from his lips.
"Well, as the song goes the only way is up," Brian answers with a leer on his face.
"No more tricking?" Justin asks hopefully in a soft voice, staring into Brian's eyes.
"No more." Brian sounds determined as ever. His eyes are firmly fixed on Justin's as his hands grab the blond by the back of his neck.
"What about the game?" Justin smiles and gestures toward the cabin where the rest of the guys are fast asleep on the floor with red, plastic caps scattered around them.
"Fuck the game," Brian growls. "And for what it's worth, I only wanna fuck YOU for the rest of my life, Sunshine," he states with unexpected tenderness as he presses their lips and tongues together.
"Talk about vows…try telling that in front of the judge and a few of our loved ones at City Hall tomorrow; that will go over well," Justin laughs with a smile.
"I definitely intend to. Even though we don't really need vows, do we?" Brian smiles back. As they break the kiss off, the first rays of sunshine peek from behind the trees to mark a new day.
"I've waited long enough for it, so I think I deserve to hear some vows before you put that ring on my finger, believe it or not," Justin tells Brian with a grin.
"So tell me yours," Brian teases.
"No, I can't." Justin refuses, suddenly a little embarrassed. "It's terribly, ridiculously romantic, and you'll laugh in my face."
"I won't," Brian promises, pressing Justin's hand against his own chest.
"Here goes then. I love you," Justin whispers fervently in his partner's ear. " I LUF you!!!" he then leans against Brian's taller figure and snakes his tongue into the taller man's mouth. "And there's plenty more where this one came from. This is my vow to you, Mr. Kinney," he smirks as they finally break off the kiss.
"I can live with that," Brian grins before his expression turns tenderer, "...and I do, too."
As the couple turn to head back into the cabin, they notice the gang standing behind the screen door, silently observing them. Emmett wipes a sentimental tear away as Ted and Blake hug each other and smile, while Ben and Michael applaud as if they are attending a live performance.
"You freaks!" Brian snorts as he grabs Justin's hand and drags him back inside.
"Breakfast, anyone?" Emmett says. "We've got a long day ahead of us!!"
"We sure do!" Brian nods with a smile.
As the guys all sit on the floor while Michael and Emmett pass hot mugs of coffee and warm bread rolls around, Brian leans toward Ted and reaches out toward him to shake his hand.
"Thanks, Theodore," he states with surprising sincerity.
"You're welcome," Ted answers with a twinkle in his eye. "But remember, this time don't fuck it up."
