Part 8

"What the fuck?..." Justin replies.

"Things got really nasty between the Vances recently. I'll spare you the details," Brian tells him.

"Please do," Justin responds dryly.

"Anyway…their divorce is now finalized and she's spending the time she's got until the birth at her sister's house. We spoke briefly a few weeks ago and she admitted she can't see herself raising the baby on her own while dealing with everything. I'm willing to help her financially, but we agreed it would be best if the baby would have two stable, loving, and caring parents instead."

Justin stands still in his spacious studio with the phone in his hand.

"They were wrong, they were all wrong," he says quietly. " Emmett, Lindsay, my agent, my dad… They kept telling me you were nothing but a big jerk and I agreed with them. I guess I owe you an apology. Sorry, Brian, I was wrong." Justin admits.

"Sorry is bullshit, don't you know that by now?" Brian lets out a sudden giggle.

"Hey, watch it, you've got to start cutting back on the F words now that you're about to be a daddy. You need to let your kid find a role model in you," Justin chides him.

"Guess I'm a lost cause, then, which is why I need you beside me so we can both go through this," Brian huffs.

"Okay… that's a start, but don't get your hopes up too high." Justin finally allows himself to smile even though his partner can't see it.

"So when are you dragging your ass back here?" Brian teases playfully.

"Briaan!" Justin protests; still, his cock rather likes Brian's unconventional offer.

"I think we need to drive to the house to start working on the nursery first," Justin points out.

"Fine with me. I miss the large, spacious master bedroom up there," Brian states calmly.

"Is that your way of saying you miss me?" Justin inquires, wiping the paint off his fingers.

"I haven't missed your rambling, that's for sure," Brian replies.

"Sorry, Brian, nothing you can say will scare me off now, so you better stop trying," Justin says as if he's been expecting his partner's response. He doesn't care that they suddenly sound like two hopelessly in love teenagers over the phone and apparently Brian doesn't mind it, either. Justin cradles the phone into his ear as he's pacing back and forth in his studio, feeling like a huge burden has been lifted from his shoulders.

"What are you wearing?" He blurts out.

"Nothing," Brian sounds as if he's been waiting for this.

"Don't mess with me, Kinney, I'm not in the mood for phone sex, I'm too horny for that, " Justin admits with a giggle.

"Who's messing up? I told you to drag your ass back in here," Brian answers.

"I'm 200 miles away from you, " Justin moans, feeling the pressure in his balls.

"That's why they invented planes," Brian notes in a gravely voice.

"I'm trying to work on a new piece for my show," Justin says.

'I'll be your inspiration," Brian whispers.

"You always were. But… I don't know." Justin's voice trembles.

"If we're going to raise a baby together as legal parents you're gonna have to know," Brian says.

"Don't do that just to please me, Brian," Justin says as he looks out through the large window of his studio into the night.

"I'm not, I'm doing that for me," Brian says.

"I miss you, Brian." Justin whispers under his breath.

"Come home, then, right now." Brian asks softly. "Or my balls would turn to pumpkins."

"Ha Ha, very funny," Justin says.

"I miss you too, Sunshine," Brian blurts out in his lover's ear, knowing somehow what Justin's answer will be.
