"So Mr. umm… Kinney, what brings you here today? Have you come here to waste my time? I've got so many other unemployed people to take care of," Mr. Schmidt huffs.

Is that some sort of twisted unemployment agency humor? Brian thinks. The fucking reception area outside isn't exactly overflowing with job-seeking people. Except for one in particular, but he's not there anymore and Brian doesn't even know his name anyway.

"You asked me to come here, actually, to bring you those documents. I'll be out of work for six months. I at least need to sign up for unemployment," Brian answers dryly.

"Well… let's see then." Mr. Schmidt opens Brian's brown envelope and leafs through the papers as he painstakingly types ever so fucking slowly on his keyboard.

Brian feels edgy. He doesn't need this. He feels helpless and it doesn't feel right. Helplessness makes his dick soft and that's something he definitely doesn't need right now.

"So, here's the thing, Mr., umm, Kinney," Mr. Schmidt finally announces, but stops in mid-sentence when there's a faint knock on the door.

"Come in," Mr. Schmidt calls out.

"Hi…sorry to interrupt," a small voice says. Brian recognizes the voice even before he looks at the face.

"What is it Mr., um...Taylor?" Mr. Schmidt frowns.

"I… I was on my way out and I noticed I forgot to give you these," the blond Mr. Taylor almost whispers, as he hands a few more documents to Mr. Schmidt.

"Good," Mr. Schmidt replies without taking his eyes off the rather outdated computer monitor.

"Thanks," Mr. Taylor whispers and leaves the room.

I hate this kind of offices and this kind of ppl who should help you (it's their job!) or be nice if they don't have good news for you because you (without their help) are in shit situation, but of course they have time... they can put one letter in 5 min. at their comp, wrrr. Good that Justin has poor memory and forgot to do some things in time 8-)

As I already told you the "Have you come here to waist my time" remark (while there was NO one else waiting there!! ) is actually based on my 'experience' so yes, these things can get really frustrating. Lucky for me I didn't have to go to the office each week, just had to quickly sign in...
But don't worry, Justin and Brian's luck may change soon :D
Thank you so much for your ongoing support for this story and for your heartfelt feedback. It means a lot to me.
*hugs you tight*

I can't help it, but while reading this fic I have the feeling there is a cloud over me. Like it's dark, and it feels like I have a huge pressure on my chest. Okay, I can't explain it, I just hope the mood will change sooner or later. :)

Thank you so much for your heartfelt honest feedback, Laura. I'm actually pleased to know you're getting this kind of angsty vibe because this is what I wanted to get across at least for the first part of this story. I can promise things will brighten up soon...

We're making headway. Now Brian knows Justin's last name. Why is Ted being such a jerk? Though I have to admit it does sound like a public servant.
