Part 4
"Can I get you anything?" Cynthia asks quietly as she gathers a few folders from the table next morning at the office. Brian leans into his black leather chair. He pinches the bridge of his nose and stretches his long lean legs sliding the palm of his hand across his Armani slate colored dress pants. He puts his legs on his desk, gazing at his dark brown Gucci loafers.
"Some peace and quite would be nice." Brian answers, tucking his tongue into his cheek. "And a double non fat Latte." He adds before she leaves the room.
"Coming right up!" Ted cheers on and steps inside through the glass door holding a huge Starbucks take out cup. "Here you go, Bri. Looks like you gonne need it." He puts it on Brian's desk.
Brian nods at Ted and grabs the cup. "You have no idea!" he takes a long sip and lets out a sigh.
"Well… it's not everyday that two people such as yourselves decide to tie the knot." Ted says. "It's a huge step but I'm sure you both contemplated quite a lot before you… went for it." He continues, gesturing towards Brian's crouch.
"Are you out of your fucking mind, Theodore?" Brian shrugs and drops his legs off his desk almost knocking the coffee cup over.
"There's nothing to be coy about, Bri. Blake and I had our fair share of serious discussions before we took the plunge, you know." Ted explains.
Brian stares at his friend and long time colleague. "It's funny, you know. I didn't think I would enjoy being with just one guy as much as I do." His voice softens. "Fuck. I guess hunting season is officially over." He silently huffs.
"Maybe it's because this one guy is Justin?." Ted asks. "I mean as long as it works for you then it's all good. I know you once said you don't owe anybody any apologies for who you are and how you live but since you're the one calling the shots it is your game...and the other way around, I guess." Ted continues. " But anyway… Babylon? Tonight? haven't been there for a while."
"See you there." Brian answers.
"Can't wait. It'll be like old times" Ted grins.
"Get the fuck out." Brian orders.
As Ted walks out Brian's phones rings. Looking at the caller ID he smiles, knowing this caller won't be asking too many questions.
"Hi, dad!" Gus greets Brian at the other end of the line.
"Hi, sonny-boy." Brian answers and his mind suddenly clears.
