1. Water Lillis
The first weekend in New York City you decided you would have to go to MoMa. Your parents always promised they would take you there when you were younger but somehow they never kept that promise.
On your first Saturday away from the Pitss you leave the shitty apartment you share with Daphne's friend in Brooklyn and take the subway uptown.
Once inside the vast specious exhibition rooms you clutch onto your messenger bag as you face those timeless classics. You had quite a collection of art books as a child and you've studied them all during your years at PIFA but then you see it before you. Those nude paintings, The Picasso's , Monet's Water Lillis, the photos, the sculptures…
You're overwhelmed.
You're almost turned on.
In your mind you see your next big piece hangs on the wall in one of those galleries.
You giggle silently to yourself.
Then you picture yourself picking up a piece you'd have in your home. Your home. Yours and Brian's. Your country house. The one he bought for you.
You let out a quite sigh. As you move on into the next room you notice a couple standing close together, sharing an inspired moment, whispering to each other in a quiet gallery.
You miss him. You miss Brian so much. You can't thank him enough for pushing you to pursue your dream but it's not how you wanted it to be.
When you leave the museum it's already dark outside.
You search for your phone and press the speed dial.
You tell him you had a great day. You don't want to make it difficult for him more than it already is but he senses your anguish.
"All that exposure to creativity and history might have you creating a historical night in bed." He's obviously trying to lift your spirit at the other end of the line.
"Don't be ridiculous, Brian." you say while searching for the keys to the apartment. Apparently your phone conversation lasted the entire subway ride back.
"I'm not…" he's answering.
"What the fuck are you doing here?" you gasp for air as you realize he's standing behind you.
"You said we'll see each other almost every week, remember?" he smiles.
Your heart skips a bit.
You can't believe he's here with you until you're safely wrapped in his arms.
