my dear talented friend Viv [livejournal.com profile] foreverbm kindly agreed to create two amazing banners for me,to use on my next two yet to be posted fics.
we've been exchanging emails all afternoon, and Viv,being the amazing caring person that she is gave me the coding to those banners and offered to help me upload them.
the thing is those things invole copy and pasting, which for some reason doesn't seem to work for me,no matter how much I try. it works on a simple word document, but it turns to a complete mess when I try to apload graphics or other more complicated stuff. in fact that's why I write all my fics by hand,in my writing pad ,and than post it directly into my lj (well, that's not the only reason,I just enjoy the actual writing *happy sigh* ) but anyway I try to stay away from anything that has to do with "copy /paste" because I don't want to stress over it.
it's just that... Viv's banners are so beautiful and special.she knew exactly what I wanted and those banners fit the stories perfectly,
since Viv is sleaping right now I might ask you flist,is it possible for me to post my fic first and that let her try and upload the banner for me?
thanks
xoxo

omg,I feel like such a dork, but as you can see I'm still hopeful (or at least trying to be... )

Okay here's what I do, no copy and paste...

When she sent you the banners in the email you click on them and they download. You can save them to a folder or just on your desk top.

Next in LJ go to your home page, put the little hand over the profile tag and come down to upload to scrapbook, click (I'm assuming you haven't done this before), click on the down arrow; the Top Box says Up-load to; Unsorted, Choose Gallery, New Gallery.

Create a gallery such as "Banners"...

Second box Security; Public, Private, Registered Users, All Groups I use Registered Users.

Third Box Files; This brings up your computer hard drive. On the right hand-side there a box that says Browse. This will bring up your desktop and the folders located on your desktop.

Click on the photo you want if its in a folder open that (Where if its on the desktop or, under my computer, or my documents or where ever you save your pics, and then click on the photo. If downloading multiple pics just keep clicking the browse button...

Okay so now you're ready to post your story, you already know how to do this right? So across the top row are button select the one between the button to load a (user icon) and the one that looks like a disc (for videos to load)its square and yellow and looks like a postcard.

Click on the yellow square, Image Properties will appear (you would use most of that if you linked to photo-bucket) I think?

Anyways you don't need to, just click on the third tab over at the top, Upload, then click image from scrapbook gallery, next, then it will bring up all your galleries, select gallery, page through pics, find the pic you want double click on it, let it show you the preview, click OK....

That's lesson one loading pics in scrapbook... he he he...
