"I never got a chance to congratulate you." Justin whispered in the darkness of the bedroom.

"What for?" the taller man asked quietly, his head still resting on Justin's chest as they were both trying to even their breath.

"For making partner" Justin answered. "I know how important it was for you. I think I just didn't realize you're at a point in your life where… it's not just about the money. I know you wanted to make partner so you'll be able to move ahead, to expend… to challenge yourself… I know that if you wouldn't have taken that chance you would probably be out of job, and It would have been really difficult for you to start over".

"I couldn't believe it when I got back from Chicago and you were gone. There was nothing more I wanted than to share the news with you. You're my… biggest fan" Brian's husky voice broke the silence.

He rolled off Justin's body, gently pressing his chest into Justin's back, wrapping his arms around Justin's waist and caressing his blond sweaty strands.

"I was so pissed with you, Brian. That's why I didn't tell you I left for Vermont. I thought you just didn't care" Justin said as he turned around in Brian's arms to face the hazel eyes.

"I know I should have told you. I don't know why I didn't…" Brian's lips gently touched the crock of Justin's neck.

"I really missed you, it wasn't the same with out you" Justin sighed.

"Sorry is bullshit, but I guess I'll have to admit it was stupid of me not to tell you. I was wrong, Sunshine" Brian replied.

"I… I freaked out…I thought I just didn't fit into your life, because I want a boyfriend who wants to stay home every once in a while" Justin whispered while his fingers trailed across Brian's lower lip.

"Must you always bring it up?" Brian groaned .

"Yes" Justin smirked. "And don't think you're off the hook, partner".
