"Justin, hi, I've been waiting for your call. So where will we meet? At that cute new bistro down town, or at your little country house?", Daphne asked joyfully when Justin called her on Monday morning.
"Um... I'm afraid we'll have to cancel, Daph", Justin apologized "I know it's been ages since we met and I'd love to hear all about your new boyfriend, not to mention it is your birthday but… I'm in bed right now".
"Where else would you be, with a gorgeous husband like yours?", Daphne answered back.
"Well, he left for work …but... he's the reason I'm in bed, sort of ", Justin sounded a bit sore.
"Do I really need to hear the rest?", Daphne asked in a cheerful voice.
"Um… let's just say things got a little out of hand last night, so… I bumped my head into the new chandelier in our bedroom… god, Daphne, you should see it. It looks amazing… it looks like a 16th century piece. It was custom made in Italy. Brian shipped it over here just in time for our anniversary. ", Justin explained.
"Sounds so romantic", Daphne said, "Poor baby…talk about mind blowing sex", she continued, trying to hide a giggle.
"You get the picture", Justin groaned.
"Enough said", Daphne replied. "Do you want me to come over? I'll bring you my vegan Lasagna , we could watch Revenge and rant all we want about boys troubles"
"Sounds cool", Justin huffed, "Drive safely... and... could you please bring me chocolate chip cookies and a bucket of Ben&Jerry's Chunky Monkey instead?"
"Hey, it's my birthday", Daphne sighed dramatically.
"Be careful what you wish for, then", Justin teased his old friend and rubbed the sore spot at the back of his head.
