"Thank you, Brian," Lindsay whispered.
"He's my son too, no matter what," Brian whispered back, fiddling with his expensive pen after writing the check.
"Is there anything I can do for you?" Lindsay asked, chewing on the end of her pencil.
Brian paused. Lindsay always did that when she had something on her mind.
"Ok… you asked for it. You know I love you, but will you let me win this fucking game? Just once..." Brian said.
She giggled and kissed him softly on the cheek as she got up to bring the old Scrabble cardboard box to the table.
