"Look what we found, Daddy," JR called as Michael sat on the sofa beside her.
Michael took the picture out of JR’s hand and looked at Mel.
"Where did you find it?" he asked.
"JR needed a picture for her Purim project at Hebrew school and we couldn't find any…" Mel answered, shrugging her shoulders.
"You're dressed like a clown, but you don't look so happy here, Dad," JR noted, climbing onto Michael's lap.
"Honey, would you like to help me bake the traditional Purim cookies you love so much?" Lindsay interrupted.
"No, I want to stay here," JR replied.
"So, what costume will you be wearing this year?" Michael asked his daughter. "I can ask Auntie Em to make you a beautiful little mermaid costume."
"Daaad, I'm 7 years, 10 months, and 3 days old; I don't wear that stuff anymore. My friend Sadie and I decided to go as girl pirates. It's so cool to be multi cultural," JR answered.
Michael tried not to giggle as his daughter kept telling him all about her costume.
Mel watched the two of them from behind the kitchen counter. The decision to come back home was a wise move after all.
