"Dad…?"

"Yes, Sonny-boy?"

"Can I talk to Justin please?"

"Sure, I suppose. He's the cool guy around here, right?" Brian answered the giggling ten year old, and handed the cell phone to Justin.

"What's up, Gus?" Justin smiled.

"Hi Justin! We have this new project at school. We need to bring an object that reminds us of our childhood… and I thought I would bring something really cool to class," Gus explained.

"You want me to come to school with you?" Justin laughed, looking at Brian who set on the sofa across from him.

"Well… not exactly... I want you to lend me your pet," Gus paused.

"I don't have a pet," Justin answered softly, and gazed at his partner as he rolled his lips inwards.

"Well, you used to. Mom told me about it. She said you named me after that pet, the night I was born," Gus took a deep breath.

"You mean my… my teddy bear?" Justin smirked.

"So you do remember. Mom said you would. Can I please have it?" The boy sounded excited.

"It's not exactly a pet, but…sure… I'll... I'll search for it and bring it over to you this weekend, ok?" Justin couldn't avoid his husband’s mischievous smile.

"Great. I'll be the coolest kid in class," Gus giggled again and hung up.

"And to think Mel wanted to call him Abraham…" Brian couldn't help himself.

"Oh, so you do remember what happen that night…" Justin licked his lips and leaned in towards Brian’s toned and eager body.

Wow, that is such a lovely, cute and heartwarming ficlet! Gus choosing the "first Gus" being the pet he wants to bring to school...OMG, it remembered me the most beautiful scene in 101 AND also my own first teddy bear and the meaning he had for me. The way you connected Gus and Gus with the night BJ met brings up all emotions in a perfect way! Thank you for writing it!!!!!
