"I know I said 5 years ago that we didn't need rings or vows to prove our love because we already knew that," Justin whispered, standing on his toes to reach Brian's waiting lips.
They had hung out in Babylon for a while, and then decided to spend the night at the loft.
"I know we don't need to prove it, not to anybody, not even to ourselves. I know I'm in love with you more than I ever was, if it's at all possible," Justin continued.
"I do too. More than I ever thought I would," Brian whispered back, when their lips eventually separated. "I know we don't need proof, I know you don't need me to prove it to you, and I definitely don't need you to prove it to me, but this is not why I thought we should do this. This is not why I thought we should wear our rings."
He held on to Justin, holding his face close in the palm of his hands. "I want us to wear the rings because five years is long enough. Hell, we've been doing it raw, we've been committed, we know nothing can change that, and… I love you, Justin. You think this happens everyday?" Brian mouthed with a bated breath.
Justin stood still, feeling Brian's warm breath on his neck, reveling in the sweetness of those spoken words.
They drove to Britin first thing in the morning. It was a Sunday, so there was a bit of traffic on the way, but they didn't mind. Nothing was rushed. They had plenty of time.
"Have you written any vows?" the minister asked them, after they told him it would just be the two of them present.
"We said them a long time ago," Justin answered, looking at his soon-to-be-husband beside him.
"But we'll say them again, every day," Brian replied, as he reached for Justin’s hand and gently caressed his ring finger.
