"May I borrow my husband?" Brian asked Lindsay, tongue in cheek. She nodded and gently patted Justin on his back.
"Let's dance," Brian called cheerfully, ready to whisk Justin away to the dance floor as the first notes of "Proud" poured out of the sound system.

Later in the evening, Lindsay reached her hand towards Brian, as if to straighten his silvery tie.
"I'm proud of you, you raised him well, indeed," she whispered in his ear, gazing at Justin and Gus who were still giggling near the dessert table.
"Both of them," she continued, her lips gently touching Brian's.
