Part 3
"I just want to spend a quiet evening at home tonight, " Justin explained to his partner as they finished their breakfast.
"Well, it just so happens that you're going to be too busy for that." Brian exclaimed, gazing at his phone. "Crystal Vance just delivered the baby. Her sister just texted me. So apparently… it's here, so come on, let's drive up there to see him,"
"I.. I actually think I should stay here, get everything ready, you know, make last minute preparations in the nursery… " Justin said as Brian grabbed his car keys and kissed him on his lips.
After Brian left Justin went to his studio. The old pain in his right hand had long gone, so it was much easier for him to draw these days. He reached for his sketchpad and pencils and started drawing.
His cell phone distracted him. He put down the sketchpad and smiled as he noticed the caller ID, and kept staring at an unfinished image of baby Gus on the page. The boy will be turning 12 in September, but Brian has never seen him before.
When Justin answered the phone he knew right away that it was the right decision. He knew it wouldn't be easy, but it would make all of them happy.

Brian didn't come home from the city until around 10 p.m. When he finally entered the driveway and stepped out of the car into Justin's waiting arms, he could barely hold back a silent cry. Justin held the taller man close. He knew Brian was not alone in wanting this. He knew it wasn't like that fantasy he had years ago when he broke up with Brian and stayed with Michael and Ben for the night, and it wasn't like last summer when he thought Brian had fallen out of love with him when he spent his time mourning his losses.
It was different this time. They were different.

Cynthia seemed a bit distracted at work, which wasn't a bad thing because Brian didn't want her to fuss over the fact that he just had a son. Two sons, actually.
Ted, on the other hand, was obviously well informed. As Brian walked into his office the next day, the man handed him a small box wrapped in colorful gift wrap and told him not to open it until he got home. Brian stared at his friend and colleague. He wasn't in the mood to laugh. He was a bit distracted himself. He suddenly felt he had too many balls to juggle and not in a positive, life affirming way.
He and Justin were about to bring a newborn baby home later that day. Still they didn't get another phone call from Mel about their upcoming meeting. Last time Justin told him he spoke with her it was over a week ago, and they hadn't heard anything yet.
He smiled wryly at Ted and asked for his usual Latte. As Ted nodded and stepped outside, Brian sank into his black, leather chair, leaned back and took a deep breath. Fuck! So much has changed.
He and Justin have known each other for ten years. They were still engaged. They've been monogamous for almost 9 months since their subsequent reunion, and they finally starting to discuss the idea of tying the knot.
This was quite an impressive track record for a 45-year-old father of two, who could still turn heads Brian allowed himself a smirk and curled his lips inward as he realized he only cared about one special head, heart, and soul.
Brian called him from the car’s Bluetooth system, as usual, about 20 minutes before he entered the driveway at Britin. The blond sounded quite giddy as Brian informed him he should ready to leave in half an hour so they could get to the airport to take a flight to the Hamptons to pick up their newborn baby.
As Brian parked his jeep, he saw an unfamiliar, red, Ford parked in the driveway as he pulled in. Fuck, a voice screamed inside Brian's head.
There was no way they would receive any visitors.
Not tonight.
