"So where is your cute ball and chain tonight, Brian?" Ted snorted, and tapped on his Pepsi can.
"He's busy," Brian said with his tongue in cheek, “but he sends his love."
"I’ve got to hand it to you, Brian, it takes years of practice to develop a technique like that," Emmett flickered his eye lashes, and sipped his pink Cosmo.
Just as Brian was staring, mesmerized by Emmett’s sequenced t-shirt, his cell phone rang. Brian turned his back to the guys, lowered his voice, and whispered something into the receiver. Then he snapped it shut and returned to his friends.
"That's it for me boys," he said, not even raising an eyebrow.
He squeezed Ted’s shoulder, and nodded as Emmett said he'd meet with Justin in a few days to discuss the reception.
Brian moved towards the entrance, shaking hands with some of the club employees.
Before he went outside, he turned to the bar again and yelled, "Don't bother trying to throw me another stag party this time. You hear?!"
Ted and Emmett just looked at each other. They’d known Brian for years. They shared hours of friendly, sarcastic remarks between them.
This time it would be different.
