Part 4

After setting up a time to meet with Justin, Brian places his cell phone down on his desk and smiles enigmatically at Ted, his trusty business manager. Ted frowns slightly, perplexed, unable to tell by the slight smirk on his boss’s face what exactly is going on.

Brian slowly rises from his black leather chair. He can’t stay in his office like this, not after what has just happened. Ted watches him turn and enter his spacious, private bathroom, noticing how he seems to be avoiding facing him. He shakes his head in puzzlement as Brian promptly disappears inside. Wondering if somehow Brian had managed to sneak in some guy to fuck in the bathroom, he takes the not-so-subtle hint and heads back out of the room toward his own desk, knowing his boss would bellow if he needed him again.

Cleaned up a few minutes later and with a new change of clothing – a pair of dark blue, skinny jeans and a black, button-down shirt – Brian grabs his cellphone, wallet, and car keys before heading out of his private office, casting a cursory glance at Ted and leaving the building before his business manager has a chance to ask where he’s going. Shaking his head but unsurprised by his boss’s strange behavior, Ted proceeds to get back to his own duties.

Brian finds the gallery in Chelsea right away, using his GPS. A few minutes later as he opens the door to enter, he wishes he had another kind of GPS. He feels totally disoriented when the blond gazes over at him with those luminous pools of blue.

Get a grip, Kinney, he silently chastises himself. Fuck. The last time he felt like this was more than 20 years ago. But he just can’t help himself.

Justin beams at him when he spies his presence, and reaches out to grab his arm. Brian feels the warmth radiating from the smaller frame, and his cock twitches as shivers run down his spine.

“Hold up there Picasso,” he chides his wannabe lover. “First you tell me Charles is coming to ‘fetch’ you, and then you give me the best phone sex I’ve ever fucking have. And then you insist on meeting me here to continue where we left off. What’s really going on, Justin?” As much as he wanted to deny it, the thought of never seeing this incredible man again makes him feel inordinately empty.

Justin glances around the gallery warily as he tells him, “Not out here.” He grasps Brian’s elbow and proceeds to squire him around the open space toward a more secluded area.

“Okay, Justin,” Brian begins about fifteen minutes later as they sit at a small, round table at a café located directly across from the gallery. “Tell me what’s going on.”

His previous bravado gone now, Justin’s smile fades as he nods solemnly, knowing that it’s time to lay all his cards out on the proverbial table.
