Part 6

As he leaves the unemployment agency building, struggling to ignore the knot in his throat, his phone rings.

"When are you coming home, Justin?" his mom sounds edgy on the other end of the line.

"I told you, I was just at the unemployment agency. I'm looking for a job," he answers rather bluntly.

"You don't need that, Justin. Your father and I support you; you know that. We're more than willing to help you. Please come home," his mom pleads.

"I know you are and I appreciate that, but I need to support myself. I need…" Justin lets out a huge sigh. "Mom, the bus is here, I need to go," he informs her.

"You don't have to run around in buses. You can take Molly's car, you know. Dad just bought her a new one," his mom replies.

"I can't. I want to make it on my own. I'm thirty," he answers in frustration, as he boards the bus.

"Twenty nine," his mom points out, apparently smiling to herself.

"Well, okay, talk to you later. And...I love you guys," Justin finishes off.

As he picks up his stuff and jumps off the bus a few minutes later, he stops short at the curb before he crosses the street.

It's that guy.

The one from the agency. The guy with the huge bandage on his finger who looked at him with the most amazing amber colored eyes yesterday and again earlier today, only he was too busy rambling and crying like a schoolboy.

He's got a motorcycle? Justin was never into those kinds of things, but being an art student his eyes always search for beautiful, appealing objects to draw inspiration from. Justin's eyes follow the fine details of the vintage, 1970's Ducati motorcycle, admiring the way the shiny, metal pipes and the other parts reflect off the sun.

The guy on top of the bike is rather pleasing to the eye as well.

The light turns to green, but Justin waits a while longer to observe some more. The guy leans forward to get a better hold of the bike's handles, exposing a rather tanned bit of his lower back. Justin feels a warm wave gently spreading down his lower abdomen all the way to his cock. The guy doesn't seem to notice him, but Justin's eyes are definitely playing catch up with the vision of that guy's round, firm, butt cheeks clad in tight denim jeans as he tries to sit upright as the light turns green for him.

This is ridiculous, Justin thinks to himself as he approaches his apartment building at the corner of Fuller and Tremont. His dad, Craig, the wealthy owner of Taylor Electronics, had recently started investing in real estate. One of his latest acquisitions was this entire building, so when Justin had decided to finally move out of his parents' house after graduating from PIFA a few years earlier, his dad had given him the loft on the top floor as a graduation gift. At first it was a bit awkward for Justin to bring guys into the loft, because the last thing he wanted to do was to turn the place into a fuck pad. But soon enough things had quieted down anyway, because he wasn't going out every night or 'having company' over as his mom would say, at least not as often as he did when he was still in school.

His mom, Jennifer, was on the Board of Directors of the Pittsburgh Museum of Fine Arts and knew quite a few influential people, so she could help Justin get practically any job he wanted, especially since he graduated with honors, but Justin didn't want that.

Fresh out of college, he tried to find a position as a junior artistic director at an advertising agency where he used to intern while still in school. After a few months, he felt it wasn't right for him, but his decision to leave was prompted by a very indecent proposal from the head of the art department, a sleaze bag named Kip Thomas. Justin never told his parents or even his sister Molly about that incident. They all knew Justin was gay and didn't make a fuss about it, which Justin appreciated, but what happened at the office that day was something he really couldn't cope with, so he buried it in his subconscious and tried to move on.

A month later, he was offered a part-time teaching job by one of his former PIFA teachers, Professor Chanders, a young woman everyone referred to as Daphne. It wasn't much, but it consisted of teaching at an art ed program sponsored by PIFA at different elementary schools in the city a few times a week. Justin had no prior teaching experience, and the money was tight, but at least it was related to his favorite subject and he could prove to himself and to his parents that he could get by on his own.

His parents kept asking him to go back home, but he politely declined each time.

Things started to brighten up when a couple of weeks into his new job Justin had a chance to hook up with James, a cute, tall, rather toned, strawberry-blond guy who was one of his fellow art ed teachers. It lasted for about six weeks. They fucked constantly and spent more than a few nights and mornings at the loft together until the guy, who was an exchange student from England and only worked with the art ed program for fun, had to return home to his family estate at the end of the school year.

Soon afterward, Daphne called to apologize and announce to Justin that PIFA was shutting down the whole program due to a lack of funding.

That's when he decided that since he had nothing to lose he might as well try his luck and head over to the unemployment agency for the first time in his life.

He soon realized he had a lot to lose, mainly his pride and own self-worth.

Until this morning when he had laid eyes on the tall, toned, rather tanned auburn-haired guy who started at him with blazing, amber-colored eyes.

Hi, Vered. I finally had a chance to catch up on this story, and I really like it. Such a different concept to have Brian needing a job and not the wealthy guy we know him to be. I like your Justin, too. Looking forward to when they actually get together. ♥

Well this chapter explains a lot. Like the twist of Justin working for Kip Thomas, and with Daphne teaching elementary students art. Shame it didn't work out.

I'm so thrilled to know you liked that twist. It was really interesting for me to write. Thank you so much for your encouraging feedback :)
