Part 5
"So what made you change your mind?" Brian asks later that morning as he's exiting the bathroom, looking all fresh and ready to start the day despite the fact he had fucked Justin vigorously and passionately until 4 a.m.
"I didn't say I changed my mind; I just said I've decided to give it a try," Justin smirks as he stretches in bed.
"As I recall you used a different expression…" Brian smirks back. "And by the way, don't you have to be at work this morning so your boss won't fire your ass?"
"Well, my boss said I could have a late start. I've got to do some in-depth research for a new story I'm currently working on, you see…" Justin explains with a newfound glee.
"I wouldn't go that far, exploiting the perks of fucking the boss," Brian fires right back as he's bending down to grab one more kiss from Justin before he heads downstairs. He takes a gulp of his favorite brand of guava juice in the kitchen a few minutes afterward, and calls out 'later' towards the second floor where Justin is just now getting into the shower.

As Justin navigates his way through late morning traffic towards downtown Pittsburgh, he admits to himself that this part of town looks a bit better in daylight than it did the other night when Brian introduced him to Vic for the first time in the diner. Justin still can't figure out Brian's fascination with the place, but he's hoping he might find out soon.
When Justin came out at the age of seventeen, he never even knew this place existed. He wasn't much into clubbing or that sort of stuff. He was much more into theatre and being a regular in his high school choir and theatre group. He considered Stephen Sondheim and Tony Kushner to be much more up his alley than the back alleys of Liberty Avenue.
He was familiar with Out and Proud Magazine, way before he even knew who Brian Kinney was, but it had a profound effect on him and it was what inspired him to become a writer. He came out to his friend Daphne when they were in their senior year in high school, and it was at one of Daphne's ‘ beer chugging breeder parties,’ as Justin would call them, where he wound up fucking another guy for the first time in his life.
He noticed the guy right away when he stepped inside Daphne's parents’ living room, and decided it would be fun to tease the boy for a while. They were both virgins at the time, but Justin considered himself a bit more experienced, not to mention he had come prepared just in case. When they stumbled into one of the rooms on the second floor at Daphne's parents’ house and threw themselves on the bed, Justin took control right away and fucked the hell out of the guy while they tried to ignore the knocking on the door and people screaming that they wanted their coats so they could leave.
A few weeks later, Justin thought it might be nice to ask the guy to be his date for their senior prom, but when the guy politely declined, Justin realized he might as well just skip the whole damn thing; as a result, he ended up missing out on his own high school prom all together.
Parking his car in the same spot near the dumpster in the back alley behind the diner, he didn't really know what to expect as he got out, apart from the fact it was where Vic suggested they should meet again.
"Hey, Sunshine, what brings you back here so soon?" the red-haired women, Debbie, greeted him as he reentered the diner a few minutes later.
"Hi, Debbie," Justin answers politely, unable to completely ignore the sweetness in her voice as she referred to him as ‘Sunshine.’
"I'm here to meet with Vic," he explains.
She gazes at him with some surprise. “So what can I get you while you wait?”
Justin pauses. “Uh…a grilled cheese and a large Coke?”
She smacks her gum and nods back at him as she jots his order down. Just then, a familiar voice rings out.
"Leave him alone, Sis; he's not one of your lost boys," Justin hears Vic's teasing but affectionate lilt in his voice, just as he's about to take a seat with him in the booth.
"I can see that," Debbie replies, leaving Justin wondering what they meant by that term. He makes himself a mental note to dig into that later on.
"I've never had anyone write an article about me before," Vic states as he sits across from Justin. Justin takes advantage of a few rays of early afternoon, winter sunlight to gaze closely at Vic's face. He looks much younger than his 68 years, and there's still a youthful sparkle in his eyes.
"I've done quite a few. Interviews, I mean," Justin says with a laugh as he realizes how that sounds. "And I can tell you that it's never the same.” He smiles and nods as Debbie brings his order to the table.
"Like cocks," Vic points out solemnly with a twinkle in his eye, causing Justin to lose his composure and almost choke on his grilled cheese sandwich he had just bitten into.
'What was that?" Justin asks after he takes a sip of Coke to try and wash it down.
"Well, you said each interview is different, and I said it's like cocks. Or would you rather I'd mentioned they're like snowflakes?" he smirks. “They claim no two are alike; snowflakes, I mean,” he clarified with a wry grin.
"Oh, no, it's okay, I'm not as waspish as I might seem to be," Justin assures him with a giggle. "It's just that Brian says that all the time, about cocks being like snowflakes, that is…" he explains.
"Well, Brian should know…" Vic responds, and for a split second it seems to Justin like he's some proud father who's being told about his son's antics.
"So… yeah," Justin steers the conversation back on course. "Would you feel more comfortable just talking, or would it be okay to ask you a few questions?'
"I guess we can do a bit of both. We fags are a talented bunch, you know," Vic jokes.
Justin grins, finding himself liking this guy. "So why won't you start at the beginning, and we'll take it from there?" He suggests.
