Part 5

"Have I told you lately what a great dad you are?" Brian whispered seductively into Justin's ear.

"I stopped counting, but it’s mostly when you want me to get up at night or change his diapers," Justin said lovingly, turning in bed towards Brian's warm body, pushing his leg between Brian’s toned thighs.

They had a quick morning fuck in bed, and after they got out of the shower Justin announced that Baby Adam would be taking his bath today.

Brian was lying on the bed and watched as Justin skillfully lifted the baby from his crib.

"Would you hold your son, please, while I fill his bath?" Justin asked. He helped with his sister Molly's baths when she was a baby, but this time it was totally different.

Brian cradled baby Adam on his knees so he could face him. The little guy was only two months old, but he seemed so long and lean already. Two large, bright eyes
stared at him, still not completely focused.

Brian gently caressed the velvety top of the baby's head. He could almost cover his tiny head with the palm of his hand. He had never gotten the chance to do any of this when Gus was a baby.

"Brian, the bath is ready," Justin called from the adjacent room, which they had turned into a bright and airy nursery.

Justin took the baby from Brian's hands and put him on the nursing table. He caressed the baby's belly as he started to undress him. Justin leaned in and softly kissed his son on the belly, and then he lifted his legs and kissed each of Adam’s tiny toes. Brian stood behind his husband, reveling in the sight, and reached out his hand to help carry the bundle of joy to the bath.

"Check the water, Brian," Justin said, but there was no need for that. He stood and watched as Brian scooped up a bit of the water and dribbled it over the baby. Then he slowly put him into the large plastic tab, supporting the baby on his back. The kid loved it. He kicked his tiny legs in the water and splashed it all over his dads.

After a while, Brian took Adam out of the water and placed him into Justin's waiting arms. Justin wrapped his son in a huge towel, carefully drying him off. Once Adam was fully dressed, Justin sat with him on the sofa and handed him his tiny bottle.

Brian, who had showered, ate, and gotten dressed as well, reached for his cell phone and checked his messages

"What's up?" he fired into the receiver, listening to Ted's morning update.

"I just saw your message." Brian continued all businesslike. "No, I couldn't answer before. No, not that busy," his voice suddenly softened as he explained, "It was Adam's bath time."

"The nurse told me that starting tomorrow we can feed the baby some fruit," Justin updated Brian, holding his cell phone in one hand and buckling baby Adam into his car seat with his other hand.

"Hmm, that brings back memories," Brian whispered on the other end of the line.

"Love you too, you freak," Justin said before he hung up.

On his way to the store, he called Daphne asking her if she wanted to meet him there.

Daphne squeed with excitement and said she'd be right there.

They met up with each other outside the store where she scooped Adam into her arms, while Justin took his state-of-the-art stroller out of the car. "He's so adorable, Justin. He's gotten so big already."

"He's almost three months old," Justin answered softly, taking baby Adam back from Daphne’s arms. The baby immediately nestled his head on Justin's shoulder.

"I'm really happy for you," she said "and for Brian".

"It sounds corny, but I think Brian loves it, too…being a dad and all that," Justin replied, as he gently placed Adam in his stroller and moved on to grab a shopping cart.

"He really missed out on a lot the first time," Daphne commented. "Plus, as much as you guys love Gus, Adam belongs to both of you." She paused, "I think it means a lot to Brian."

Justin reached out his hand to hug his friend.

An elderly lady who passed them by smiled and said they made a cute couple.

"That's totally like apples and oranges," Justin giggled quietly, "which reminds me… Brian asked me to buy him some bananas and his favorite brand of guava juice."

"I really need to be getting back. I need to pick Lizzie up from pre-school," Daphne smiled. "…and make sure to mash the fruit up well."

As she turned around to leave, she saw Justin standing in line at the cashier, cradling his son in one hand, and holding his cell phone in the other hand. They make a great family, she thought to herself.

"So when's he coming in to stay with us?" Justin continued his phone conversation with Brian after the baby was safely tucked in the backseat.

"We need to have the large guest room ready for him. I have a feeling he'll need it more often now," Justin smiled as Brian informed him Gus will be staying with them over the holidays.
