Part 5
One year later
Justin tosses and turns in bed. His heart is racing as he's checking the time on his phone. It's 2 a.m., but he can't sleep. He's got a major presentation due in two weeks at PIFA, but he can't escape the gory images he sees from the moment he shuts his eyelids. Justin can't figure out why these nightmares keep emerging now, four years afterward.
When Justin told Molly about it, she recommended drinking lukewarm milk. Emmett even suggested jerking off in the shower before bed. None of it helps so far. Not that Justin isn't trying.
He pushes his blanket aside and walks out of bed to get a drink of water. Then he throws himself on the sofa in the living room, turns the TV on and decides to watch some old movies. He hasn't done that since Daphne's death. He's smiling through his tears as he notices that the movie he's watching is Sleepless in Seattle, one of Daphne's favorite films.
He sinks into the sofa pillows, his eyes fixed on the screen, when suddenly his phone rings. His fingers shake as he picks it up to answer it.
"Listen, bitch," a distorted voice whispers in his ear on the other end of the line. "Don't get too comfy with the cops, you hear? I know who you are and I know you were there that night. I saw you looking at me, so don't you mess up with me, faggot."
Before Justin can even out his shaky breath the caller hangs up.
Justin sits still for a few seconds. His mind is empty, his mouth is dry. Cold sweat gathers on his forehead and around his eyes.
He then picks himself up and goes to his desk, throwing stacks of papers and half-finished drawings everywhere.
"Where the fuck is it?" he shouts. He then picks up his landline phone and punches in a few numbers.
"Pittsburgh Police? May I talk with Detective Kinney, please?" he's barely able to whisper into the receiver. He's being told to hold the line.
"Well… can you please give me his cell phone number? Please? It's kinda urgent," he pleads after a while when he's informed that Detective Kinney is not on duty tonight.
"Thanks," he mumbles few minutes later as he scribbles Brian's cell number on the back of an art history book.

So glad the Justin is calling Brian. Maybe if they can solve the crime together the horrible gory images will stop.
