30 years ago today John Lennon was killed.
he went outside his appartment building overlooking Centeral Park in NYC and that was that.
that was the end of innocence. I was 14.5 yrs old when it happened.the Beatles, and especialy John Lennon were the soundtrack of those teenage years, and it was the early 80's,you know...
we didn't have internet or any of that stuff back than, obviously,we only had one news channel on tv,but still the news got through to us.
I remember sitting under a huge tree in the back yard at my school, just trying to figure it out.
11 years later,in mid August 1991 I got to be there.I stood outside Dakota house in NYC and than crossed the street to see the beautiful place called Strawberry fiels,in Centeral park, thinking about the way this man touched my life. has luck would have it my camera ran out of film, but I can still have a very vivid memory of that day. (omg,we had film back than, can you belive it?? )
going back in time to 1984,when I was at my senior year in high school,I discoverded yet another beautiful lost soul with an amazing voice and a huge talent.his name was Jim Morrison and he played with the Doors.their music was my comfort and inspiration for the next 2 years.
It's Jim Morrison's birthday today.
p.s.
thanks to the very talented person who made the Icon I'm using today.sorry for not crediting,I just don't know your name...
